Sarah Mcglaughn Apple Or Pear Cake

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 3 cups apples (cooked, cubed, mashed until chunky, peeling on)
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup walnuts (chopped) or 1 cup pecans (chopped)

Recipe

  • 1 beat the two eggs with oil.
  • 2 beat in sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and then flour.
  • 3 beat in cooled cooked pears or apples.
  • 4 mix in walnuts or pecans.recipe only calls for 1 cup but more would make it better.
  • 5 pour into greased 9 x 13 baking dish or pan.
  • 6 bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
  • 7 the original recipe was done with pears.
