Rosti With Sausage And Onion

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 -3 lbs potatoes (for 6-8 people)
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 -2 onion
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 grate potatoes.
  • 2 brown sausage in a non-stick skillet until no pink is left, (not until crunchy) drain grease from sausage.
  • 3 add grated potatoes to sausage in hot skillet.
  • 4 cook and turn regularly on medium to high heat for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • 5 salt liberally, add pepper if desired.
  • 6 dice one or two onions.
  • 7 add to mixture.
  • 8 continue to turn and brown for 15 minutes, flattening into the skillet.
  • 9 traditional swiss rosti is served as a big flat brown cake on a round plate.
  • 10 to serve, invert a plate on top of potatoes in skillet, then turn the skillet upside down.
