Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Recipe
- 1 mix all dry ingredients with margarine.
- 2 take 1 cup of mixture and reserve for topping and set aside.
- 3 dissolve baking soda in hot water.
- 4 add molasses, water and dissolved baking soda.
- 5 mix well.
- 6 pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
- 7 sprinkle with reserved topping mixture.
- 8 bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
