my pound cake

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 2 1/2 cups butter
  • 3 cups white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon butternut flavored extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

    Ready Time: 1 hr 30 mins

  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c). grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. sift together the flour and baking powder. set aside.
  • in a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and butternut extract. beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated. pour batter into prepared pan.
  • bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 80 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out a wire rack and cool completely.
