Pancakes With Ground Flax / Flax Seed

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seeds
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • oil (for frying) or butter (for frying)

Recipe

  • 1 whisk first six ingredient in a large bowl.
  • 2 whisk milk, eggs and vanilla in a medium bowl, then whisk in the butter.
  • 3 stir milk mixture into the dry mixture.
  • 4 add a generous amount of oil or butter to a large nonstick griddle over medium heat.
  • 5 drop a 1/4 cup batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake.
  • 6 cook until brown, approximately 2 minutes per side.
  • 7 serve with syrup and butter -- enjoy!
