Mimi's Molasses Cake

Ingredients

• Servings: 8
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 cup molasses
• 1/2 cup melted shortening
• 1 egg
• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 2 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
• 3/4 teaspoon ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon clove
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 cup boiling water

Recipe

• 1 mix everything together except the boiling water and mix well.
• 2 add the boiling water; mix well.
• 3 put into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes till done.
• 4 serve with whipped cream.
