Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 8 slices french bread (cut 1 1/2 inches thick)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package brown and serve sausage patties, cooked
  • 1 cup swiss cheese, shredded
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 cut a pocket in the crust of each slice of bread.
  • 2 butter the inside of pocket.
  • 3 cut sausage into bite sized pieces.
  • 4 toss with cheese.
  • 5 stuff into pockets.
  • 6 in a shallow bowl, beat eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon.
  • 7 dip both sides of bread.
  • 8 cook on a greased hot griddle until golden brown on both sides.
  • 9 serve with maple syrup if desired.
