Orange Mandarin Cake

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (8 ounce) can mandarin oranges (use liquid for cake)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons margarine

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 combine all dry ingredients.
  • 3 add egg, vanilla and juice.
  • 4 beat three minutes.
  • 5 stir in oranges.
  • 6 bake in square pan for 30-35 minutes.
  • 7 make the frosting while the cake is in the oven.
  • 8 cook all three ingredients over medium heat.
  • 9 keep warm, then pour over the cake while hot.
