Stabilized Whipped Cream For Frosting Cakes

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon plain gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 add gelatin to cold water in a bowl.
  • 2 set this over a saucepan with boiling water until the gelatin is clear.
  • 3 cool to room temperature.
  • 4 meanwhile whip the cream until it is medium thick.
  • 5 with the mixer still on, pour gelatin into the center of the cream.
  • 6 continue to whip. add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  • 7 continue whipping until cream is in soft peaks.
  • 8 at this point you can add food coloring or use as is.
  • 9 frost cake or cupcakes.
