Sticky Toffee Pudding

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dried chopped dates
  • 1 1/3 cups water, hot
  • 1 1/3 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup superfine sugar
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 2 preheat oven to 350 degrees, and prepare a 9x13 inch pan.

  • 10 heat sugar, butter and vanilla over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until all brown sugar has dissolved.
