Pub Cake

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon clove
• 1/2 teaspoon allspice
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 cup chopped nuts
• 1 1/2 cups chopped dates
• 2 cups beer

Recipe

• 1 cream butter and brown sugar.
• 2 add eggs and mix.
• 3 mix together dry ingredients, nuts and dates.
• 4 add to butter mixture alternately with beer; mix well.
• 5 bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour in a greased 10-inch tube pan or a 13 x 9-inch pan.
