Red Wine Chicken

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 -4 chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 (750 ml) bottle red wine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh minced ginger
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Recipe

  • 1 over medium-high heat, start a rue by wisking together the olive oil and flour in a medium pot. rue should be somewhat moist and not cakey.
  • 2 add a splash of red wine and stir vigorously.
  • 3 continue stirring and blending the rue with the wine - continue adding wine.
  • 4 when you have a stable mixture, stir in soy sauce, ginger, oregano, and brown sugar.
  • 5 add chicken and reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring and adding wine as needed every 10 minutes.
